DOOM: The Dark Ages Collaboration Unveiled at the Chelsea Flower Show

by | May 21, 2025

This year has been a wild ride for us at The Firepit Company, and one of the most exciting chapters (so far!) was bringing gaming and gardening together in a way the world’s never seen before. In an incredible collaboration with the legendary DOOM franchise, we created a custom-designed firepit inspired by DOOM: The Dark Ages and revealed it for the first time at the Chelsea Flower Show.

You probably know us best for our handcrafted steel firepits and sculptural garden pieces. But this year, we set our sights higher and hotter. The DOOM: The Dark Ages Firepit Sphere forged from steel, hand drawn and hand cut. At 900mm it’s packed with the kind of intense, otherworldly detail you’d expect from DOOM.

It was truly a team effort. Sam, our brilliant artist, hand-sketched the DOOM design straight onto the steel sphere. Then Tom stepped in, turning those sketches into reality with his expert plasma torch cutting. James brought it home, carefully grinding and finishing every curve until the firepit had that signature DOOM edge fierce, raw, and unforgettable.

But we didn’t stop there.

We also created the DOOM: The Dark Ages MiniBlaze a limited-edition, eco-friendly, collectible tabletop firepit. Perfect for toasting marshmallows or simply stealing the show as a fiery centrepiece. These little beasts were sent out to influencers across social media as part of the game’s global launch campaign.

The real showstopper, though, was our display at the Chelsea Flower Show. We’ve been exhibiting there for over a decade, but this year was something else entirely. Our stand was split into a dramatic ‘Heaven and Hell’ theme on one side, a scorched Hellscape showcasing the DOOM Firepit and MiniBlaze; on the other, a serene, Heaven-inspired garden filled with our classic designs. Chelsea has always held a special place in our hearts, but this year was different. Bringing something so bold, so unexpected, to that stage was a milestone for us not just as makers, but as a team of creatives constantly pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in steel.

We’re proud of our roots here in the countryside, and we’re even prouder of how far our craft has come. Collaborations like this remind us why we do what we do: forging fire, steel, and imagination into something unforgettable.
